IntegrationsNotion

Connect Notion

Install Notion, connect workspaces and accounts, and ask Copilot to keep your support knowledge in sync.

Connect Notion to let your Octocom automations access the pages you choose. You authorize the Octocom app in Notion. You do not need to create your own application or copy an API token.

Once installed, ask Copilot to set up a sync for your Notion content. Installation grants access; it does not automatically import pages or start a schedule.

Install

  1. In Octocom, open Settings -> Integrations -> Notion.
  2. Click Install in Notion. Notion opens in a new tab.
  3. Sign in, choose the workspace, and select the pages to share with Octocom.
  4. Approve access. You return to Octocom, where the workspace and authorizing account appear under connected workspaces and accounts.

You need full access to a page to share it. Your Notion workspace policies may also require an administrator to approve connections. Sharing a parent page gives the connection access to its available child pages. See Notion's authorization guide.

The installation link expires after 15 minutes. If you cancel, the link expires, or the tab does not open, return to the Notion dialog and start again. While waiting, Open Notion again reopens the current link.

Ask Copilot to set up a sync

For example:

Sync our support knowledge from Notion every Monday at 08:00 Europe/Berlin. Use the Customer Support pages from our Operations workspace and keep the corresponding Octocom knowledge up to date.

Copilot can inspect your connections and help configure a recurring Python job. Tell it:

  • Which connection and pages to use. Page links are useful if you have several workspaces or accounts.
  • Which business and knowledge entries should receive the content.
  • How often to refresh and which timezone to use.
  • What should happen when a page is deleted or access is removed.

Ask Copilot to test the sync and review the imported content before enabling its schedule. A well-configured sync updates the same knowledge entries on later runs rather than creating duplicates. Notion pages can have nested blocks and pagination; the automation should retrieve the complete selected content.

If the bot cannot use imported content, ask Copilot to check the knowledge entries and their assignments to the intended bot or workflow.

Multiple workspaces and accounts

Use Add connection to authorize another workspace or Notion account. Each connection has its own access and stable ID. This lets different people share the pages they can access without replacing another person's connection.

Authorizing the same workspace with the same Notion user updates the existing connection and keeps its ID. To update page access, use Reconnect, select the same workspace and account, and approve the new selection. Choose Add connection when using a different workspace or account.

Disconnect

Disconnect individual connections in the Notion dialog. Automations using that connection lose access. Other Notion connections and already imported Octocom knowledge remain, so ask Copilot to pause or update the affected sync and remove stale knowledge if needed.

Disconnecting in Octocom deletes the stored credentials. To revoke the Octocom app's authorization in Notion as well, manage the connection in your Notion workspace.

Python access

Use get_integration_credentials(context) at runtime. Notion credentials use a connections array so an automation can choose a stable connection ID explicitly:

import requests

credentials = get_integration_credentials(context)
connections = credentials.get("your-business-slug", {}).get("notion", {}).get("connections", [])
connection = next(
    (item for item in connections if item["id"] == "your-connection-id"),
    None,
)
if connection is None:
    raise ValueError("Notion connection is unavailable. Reconnect it in Settings -> Integrations.")

response = requests.get(
    "https://api.notion.com/v1/blocks/your-page-id/children",
    headers={
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {connection['accessToken']}",
        "Notion-Version": "2026-03-11",
    },
    timeout=30,
)
response.raise_for_status()
# Process blocks, pagination and nested content in your sync.

Connection entries contain id, workspaceId, workspaceName, ownerId, ownerName and accessToken. Fetch credentials on each run. Refresh credentials, when supplied by Notion, remain internal to Octocom. Never print tokens, return them as action output, or copy them into knowledge content. Access is limited by the pages shared and the Octocom app's configured Notion capabilities. If Notion revokes access, reconnect the affected connection.

MCP and REST

Copilot and other authorized agents can use list_notion_connections, connect_notion and disconnect_notion. Connecting returns a consent URL that a person must open and approve.

The REST API offers equivalent operations, authenticated with an organization API key:

  • GET /rest/v1/businesses/:businessId/integrations/notion: list connections without credentials.
  • POST /rest/v1/businesses/:businessId/integrations/notion/authorize: start installation. Send {} to add a connection or {"connectionId": "..."} to reconnect one.
  • DELETE /rest/v1/businesses/:businessId/integrations/notion/:connectionId: disconnect one connection.
