United Kingdom
Twilio phone number eligibility, address rules, and documents for United Kingdom.
Last checked: 16 October 2026. Scope: obtaining numbers for inbound/general telephony.
Number types and address rules
| Type | Required address, for businesses and individuals |
|---|---|
| Local, national (+44 33) | United Kingdom |
| Mobile, toll-free | Anywhere in the world |
What to prepare
Businesses, all types: legal name, registration authority and number, website, business address, and senior authorized representative's name, work email, and reachable mobile number. State whether you are a direct customer or an ISV/reseller/partner; ISVs must say whether numbers will be assigned to customers. Twilio lists no supporting-document uploads for these fields, but the information is still required.
Individuals, all types: name, government ID or passport, address, mobile contact number, and email. Local/national additionally require UK address proof: ID showing the address, utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt, or title deed. Mobile/toll-free do not require address evidence.
Before ordering
The contact mobile must be a real reachable mobile, not a number acquired from a communications platform such as Twilio. “No documents” does not mean “no registration.”
These are preparation notes, not a stock or approval guarantee. Check the exact number's Voice capability and current registration form. For shared terms and the ordering steps, see the overview.
Local terminology
Translations help identify terms; they do not expand Twilio's accepted document list.

|---|---|
| Local | Geographic number / landline number |
| National | Non-geographic number |
| Toll-free | Freephone number |
| Business registration number | Company number |
| Proof of address | Address evidence, such as a utility bill |
