France
Twilio phone number eligibility, address rules, and documents for France.
Last checked: 16 October 2026. Scope: obtaining numbers for inbound/general telephony.
Number types and address rules
| Type | Eligibility and address |
|---|---|
| Local, national, mobile | Businesses and individuals; French address |
| Toll-free | Businesses only; European Economic Area address |
Local numbers require a French address, not necessarily the matching area-code region. Business local/national/mobile addresses cannot be PO boxes.
What to prepare
Businesses: commercial-register extract (Kbis) identifying the authorized representative; registration number (RCS or SIREN/SIRET for France); website; representative's name and email. Prove the required address with the register extract, utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt, or title deed. Toll-free applicants registered abroad supply their official registration number.
Individuals: government ID, passport, or residence permit; address evidence from an ID showing the address, utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt, or title deed.
Before ordering
Mobile numbers are restricted to a single natural person's interpersonal, two-way use. Do not select them for a shared automated support line. Twilio also lists Technical Platform and Verified Polyvalent (NPV) categories under national KYC; confirm the intended use before ordering.
These are preparation notes, not a stock or approval guarantee. Check the exact number's Voice capability and current registration form. For shared terms and the ordering steps, see the overview.
Local terminology
Translations help identify terms; they do not expand Twilio's accepted document list.
