Italy
Twilio phone number eligibility, address rules, and documents for Italy.
Last checked: 16 October 2026. Scope: obtaining numbers for inbound/general telephony.
Number types and address rules
| Type | Eligibility and address |
|---|---|
| Local | Businesses and individuals; matching area-code region, no PO box |
| Mobile | Businesses and individuals; worldwide address |
| Toll-free | Businesses only; worldwide address |
All listed categories require address evidence.
What to prepare
Businesses: name, VAT number (or registration ID if unavailable), and address proof: business registry showing it, utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt, or title deed. Supply the authorized representative's name, ID/passport, birth date/place, nationality, and fiscal code (foreign tax-ID equivalents are accepted).
Individuals: the same personal identity details and ID/passport, plus address evidence: ID showing it, utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt, or title deed.
Identity documents must show the document number, issuing authority, and issue date.
Before ordering
A business's VAT number and its representative's personal fiscal code are separate fields. Mobile and toll-free do not require an Italian address, but still require proof of the submitted address.
These are preparation notes, not a stock or approval guarantee. Check the exact number's Voice capability and current registration form. For shared terms and the ordering steps, see the overview.
