Last checked: 16 October 2026. Scope: obtaining numbers for inbound/general telephony.
Number types and address rules
| Type | Required address |
|---|---|
| Mobile, national | Portugal |
| Toll-free | Worldwide |
| Local | No separate requirements section; confirm with Twilio |
What to prepare
Businesses: commercial-register extract proving name/address and tax number. Tax-number evidence can also be a government-issued document. The address in the extract must meet the selected number type's location rule.
Individuals: government ID, residence permit, or passport; address evidence from an ID showing the address or a utility bill.
Toll-free, both end-user types: additionally submit a signed Letter of Authorization using Twilio's LOA template.
Before ordering
For business address proof, Twilio lists the commercial-register extract, not a generic utility-bill alternative. The template commits the end user to inbound customer support use and excludes third-party use, callback, calling cards, and third-country calling. Its wording is business-oriented despite the individual requirement; individual applicants should confirm how to complete it with Twilio.
These are preparation notes, not a stock or approval guarantee. Check the exact number's Voice capability and current registration form. For shared terms and the ordering steps, see the overview.
